Electric bicycle, e-bike or moped is a bike equipped with electric motor.
Support can be provided by a motor located in the front or rear wheel (so-called hub motor), the motor can also be mounted centrally (so-called MID). Mainly used are brushless DC motors (BLDC) – low speed (Direct Drive) and gear motors (geared planetars).
Modern electric bikes are powered by lithium-ion batteries with capacities from 5 up to 20 Ah. Currently, the most popular voltage is 48V, in weaker bikes you can find 36V installations.
The power of 250 W in an electric bike only has to be valid when moving on public roads, so to ride in the forest or off-road power can be much higher. Unlocking the power takes place from the controller. Power from 250 W can be raised even up to 3000 W, and the speed from 25 km/h can increase up to 60 km/h.
